Olive Slabs!

The last four remaining olive slabs sold yesterday to client who is going to turn them into a dining table and a matching bartop. 

The slabs came off of a huge olive tree that was cut down by the city about 15 miles south of us in Rancho Santa Fe, Ca. Luckily, the wood was salvaged before it was chipped and instead was milled into beautiful live edge slabs. 

Every slab had amazing figure/color and also had very minimal sapwood, (very rare in most olive trees). 

Supposedly, we have a lead on another tree that needs to be removed by the city. We will post some pictures if we are able to get a hold of the wood.

We sold this Parota slab to a client in Illinois last week and just dropped it off at cabinet shop that will be finishing it for him. 

We usually never get to see the finished pieces but in this case we'll get to check out the table before it is shipped out.

Besides the 3500 board feet of Black Walnut, we were also lucky enough to find a neat little stash of Koa. 

Stock is 1-2" thick in widths up to 12" and lengths up 13'! 

We will be surfacing the stock tomorrow and will post more pics and we go through the pile.
